If women ruled the world
Could we do it in diamonds – or pearls?
Hair down, hair up? I mean, we are here to disrupt
The misogyny, stereotypes…and who the hell said we can’t drive?
If women ruled the world
Will there be more drama or peace?
Does our red lipstick signal power
Make em' cower
Or dare I say – there'd be hell to pay?
Homemaker, deal breaker
Slim, average, petite, over– the weight of people’s judgements
Heels or flats, skirt or pants
Is this a rant?
Well, maybe.
This is not an attack
On anything, or anyone Nor are my ovaries acting
Reacting
Matter of fact
We’re simply taking our power back
Complex, beautiful beings
Who make cookies out of chaos
Magic out of mess
Mountains out of molehills
Yet, needs no crest on her chest.
Hear us roar, scream, cry, stomp and yasss – slay!
And that’s all in a day
Mothers of earth, touched with ancestral dust
You are beautifully and wonderfully made
Do not sink into the shadows
Lest you fade
Stay in the glow of the warm, radiant Sun
Our work has really only just begun.
