The night never lies.
Wading, evading. Watching. Closing in
My skirt pulled up, as we slide into the alleyway
Sweet sin.
Bed calling, but I’m stalling
Sleep is nowhere to be found
Perched on my window, I conversate with the moon
As my body responds to the melodic, silky sounds
To a saxophone out there.
Somewhere.
Dreaming while awake
Of how my body you’d make – whistle, whir, shake and stir
Nights in white satin
In candlelight
In love
When time stood still, as a courtesy
Then the dawn came
And you were never the same.
But the night never lies. ©
